The Benefits Of Indoor Playground

If you live in an area such as we do in Western New York (we're in Rochester!) With superbly warm summers and cold snowy winters, you'll know that your choices for your kid's birthday celebration are mostly determined by the weather.
As an August baby, we constantly had small family parties outside at my house. However, together with sons born in November and March, we are always left to reserve an indoor place for their celebrations, if we chose to have them that season. While those with kids with summer birthdays may seem blessed to have so many choices at their disposal, it can also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased since we sponsor indoor parties, I wanted to discuss with you the 5 most common reasons we hear from past party clients to reserve indoor summer evenings with us. To them, the stress-free temperament of the indoor summer party is a no-brainer, and they are not looking back! After their initial indoor summer partythey keep hosting with us year after year.

And if you've ever needed to cancel or postpone your child's birthday due to weather, you know how heartbreaking that could be.
We receive dozens of calls each summer a couple of days before someone's outdoor party is supposed to take place to find out if we have an open slot for them within our indoor party place because of weather woes. We can usually pull this off if the place is open, but hosts will sadly need to starve and allow all of their guests know of the change in place and probably change in time, and also change all of their catering requests to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is likely the biggest obstacle you may face, intense heat, unseasonably cool weather, and wind can also pose issues for your decorations, food, and your guests' possessions. You will probably find yourself investing in a kayak or some other weather barrier just to ease your mind a bit, which can be costly and require lots of precious time to set up and take down. I won't even tell the story of this time my Dad set a tent up for a celebration in a windstorm and ended up with an insurance claim for 4 damaged automobiles when it blew away (weights and anchors and all!) ...

Aside from the obvious weather concerns you can avoid with a indoor party, there may also just be something really straightforward and lovely about a indoor summer party. Guests will not need to be worried about bringing towels and sunscreen and sunglasses and swimsuits and changes of clothing and insect spray... you understand.
Sometimes it's nice to have a short break from the outside, sip coffee in an air-conditioned cafe, also have a real conversation with other adults while the kids play, instead of chasing children around trying to receive their fur on them or keeping them away from your in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I could never really relax at an outdoor summer birthday party with a two and a 4 year-old. While they sure do have a good time running around, we typically leave in a daze or using a tantrum, unsure whether we even had time to talk or check in with everybody.
While I absolutely love a good barbecue or summertime grilling extravaganza, I find it so refreshing when we can take a rest from the same-old backyard celebration and spend a few hours in a relaxing, cool, and most significantly -- included! -- air.
It is also freeing as a guest to have the remainder of the day to do as we want as a family and not have to be concerned about getting the kids to a tub right after the party or stopping home to cool off and change clothes.
I promise that if you book an indoor celebration for your child, guests (particularly family) might appear a bit confused at first (why not just take advantage of the summer weather while we could, right?) But after hosting hundreds of indoor parties I will tell you for certain that on the day-of, you and your visitors will realize how nice it is to kick back in an air-conditioned private party for a couple hours.

3) EATING IN PEACE

Speaking of how relaxing an indoor, air-conditioned celebration could be, can we talk about food for a moment?
So, for our loved ones, the food factor alone would be enough to warrant an indoor celebration.
Eating in peace without needing to find shade or a chair or a place away from bugs is one of those things you do not realize can be so glorious before you attend your fourth or fifth outside summer gathering and after that get a rest from them. Among the most common things we hear is how fine it's to just sit and eat and watch the kiddos play with no any other venue-related cares or concerns. This is going to be particularly important when you are going to be having older family members attend who will battle with being portable in the grass or mud and locating seating at outdoor parties.

While celebration aesthetic may not be a deciding factor for every family, it sure is significantly easier to create a themed extravaganza that lights a youngster's face up when the party's inside. The decorations demanded tend to be less since the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to be concerned about balloons and streamers blowing all about or procuring table covers down.
Because we do host cellular events outside at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I can also speak from experience when I say the time that it takes to install (and take down!) Decorations for an outdoor party compared to a indoor party usually ends up being double. Finding great places to hang banner, requiring two people to hold and secure everything, and locating weights or other restraints for everything can be a genuine hassle on party day.
And you will have enough to worry about that day, right?
Furthermore, if your pinterest planks are filled with adorable figurines, a candy bar, or anything which could possibly be affected by wind (or bring bees!) You will probably have to restrategize for an outdoor soiree.
Not to mention decoration typically can only get used once if used outside, but repurposed again and again if used for an indoor event. Our guests that sponsor indoor occasions, especially those who invested significant money into decor or worked hard to make their own, are pleased to find they can usually create a large chunk of the cash back by reselling their supplies something such as Facebook Marketplace.

Speaking of money, probably the greatest misconception I hear from customers is that they wish to sponsor a party in their house to save themselves the leasing fee of an indoor space. I generally laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, in other words, if you have never hosted an outdoor party.
With all the"extras" such as tents, chair rentals, extra decorations, weather reinforcements, clean-up supplies, 9D vr games (https://www.twitarcade.com/) and activities for the kids (which you won't need to supply at a play area!) It's very possible you will wind up spending MUCH more hosting a party at your home or an outdoor venue than you'd indoors.
I'm not sure how other indoor spaces handle their supplies, but we only charge guests for additional drinks and supplies and these on the afternoon of the celebration if they end up needing them, and we also allow parties to attract in their OWN food, dessert, and decor if they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning before, during, and following the celebration can also take a toll. Would not it be wonderful to walk into a sparkling clean space and depart with your guests once the party's over, not needing to worry about the cleanup, garbage removal, tent teardown, etc?
You can just head home and relax with your family (yes, maybe outside!) In a nice clean home that was not just trampled by party guests and all their sand, grass, and sunscreen.
In addition to the time spent cleaning before and after the celebration, would not it ALSO be wonderful to not have to play"server" during the event? For customers that make their own food and decoration, our dedicated celebration assistants set up everything, refill and fix food and beverages as needed, clear dishes, cut and serve the cake, and package up all of the leftovers at the end of the celebration!
In the end, it is your child's special day and you want to spend those valuable hours making memories and seeing with your guests-- not running about chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl innumerable times.
So save everyone (and especially your family!) We'd be honored to offer you an easy, enjoyable experience that will leave your entire guest list feeling joyful, grateful, and full of love after having a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
